My friends and I are moving to Canberra. We’re all so excited. We’ve been planning on living together for over a year now but we could never find a good enough rental property. We’re all from Melbourne but we agreed that we’d be happy to move if it meant getting the right place. So, long story short we’re moving to Canberra.
Obviously, Canberra is quite a bit colder than Melbourne which means we’ve really had to take into account what we’ll bring with us. Stuff like warmer duvets and warmer clothes is really important. We were all going to buy our own personal portable heaters too until we realised the house comes with its own ducted heating! How awesome is that?! We’re just responsible for getting annual ducted heating servicing. Canberra landlords have the expectation that tenants will pay for their own general servicing, which we’re all okay with. We’d rather be warm every day than freezing our butts off! Paying for our own servicing is definitely a good compromise. Like, I was excited to move to Canberra even before I knew we’d have heaters. Now I’m SO excited. Can you hear the difference? I’m so ready for us to start our new lives. We’re going to be the best thing to happen to Canberra since the Split Orange Juice Festival.
I’ve started searching for the best heating repairs technician local to Canberra, so that we can get our heater serviced as soon as we arrive. In my opinion, this is even more important than getting our furniture in because if we’re not warm we’ll never be comfortable.
Growing up is scary but it’s really exciting. I’m so looking forward to living with friends and starting the next chapter of my life. I’m going to miss my family and friends like crazy though. I hope they come to visit. I’m sure they will because they’ll miss me too.
