Beach House Build

Today’s the day! After nearly a decade of budgeting and eating scraps instead of proper meals, my wife and I are finally starting the process of building our new house. Ever since our son was born, we decided we simply had to upgrade our tiny little house. Two bedrooms just weren’t enough, especially since both my wife and I work from home and every single inch of benchtop space seems to be covered by random pieces of paper.

We finally have enough money to afford our dream home, and we’ve hired a group of new home builders on the Mornington Peninsula to help us out. They’re a family-owned and operated business, which is something I really appreciate as you know they likely have stronger values than larger corporations would, and it’ll be easier to get in touch with a customer service professional whenever we need any extra help or clarification.

We’ve already secured a brilliant block of land in the exact area we want to be in for the foreseeable future. It’s surrounded by so many amenities, including a great gym and swimming complex, and a primary school that has been nationally ranked. Now we need the luxury residential architects to advise us on what we can expect from the build and what we have to take into consideration with our designs. I do believe my wife and I have a couple of plans that won’t work with our budget, so we’ll have to talk to the architects to determine if there is perhaps a more affordable option, or if we should scrap the idea altogether. In particular, we have decided on a design inspired by French provincial homes, however, we would like it to mesh well with other homes in the area so it doesn’t stand out too much or become an eyesore. We’re definitely going to put in a pool, but my wife also wants a sauna and spa! I think this is a bit ambitious, but you never know what the architects will say.
