Coworker’s Car Obsession

My coworker is so obsessed with road trips. It’s all she talks about. She doesn’t want to talk about work or actually do any work, instead she just spends her days staring out of the window and looking at her screensaver which is a photo of her and a group of friends in a car. She’s even obsessed with getting her car serviced, and went on and on the other week about how she had a transmission repair service in the Morayfield area booked in for the weekend.

She made it out like because of this car service, she was one step closer to going away on a trip with her friends. Is she delusional? We have a massive project due in the next month, and no one is allowed to go away during this time. We can’t even go away for the next couple of months after that because we need to be ready to action the client feedback as soon as it comes in.

I just wish she would grow up. She doesn’t take our job seriously and it makes a mockery out of everything we do. The way she talks just makes me want to tell her to run off and become a mechanic local to Morayfield so that she can go on road trips whenever she wants. In fact, if she annoys me one more time today or talks about how good this weather would be for a road trip, I’m going to tell her.

I’m sick to death of coworkers who clearly don’t want to be here. I’m trying to make a living and enjoy my life as best as I can. I can’t do that if people are constantly reminding me about the fact that life would be better elsewhere. Anyway, my lunch break is over which means it’s time to get back to work. I’m not one to dilly dally like she is and I have stuff to get done.
