Asking About Brakes

For my loyal readers and potential recruiters, I’ve got exciting news! What’s my news, you’re probably wondering? Well, I showed a mechanic my blog post the other day like I said I would… and he loved it! He was really shocked at how well I explained everything, just from my own research. He said that the way I explained the process of getting cooling system repairs in the Adelaide CBD was great, and that if I wrote stuff like that using his expertise then it would be perfect. If you haven’t guessed already, well, I got the job!

I’m really excited about getting started. I’m obviously not a mechanic and I won’t be doing any mechanical work. In fact, I won’t even step one foot in a mechanic workshop for this entire process. We will have meetings remotely so that he can tell me important things about being a mechanic and then I’ll write about them. It’s going to be really good.

I think I might pitch a couple of ideas to the mechanic myself about what we should write about. I think that would help him because I don’t know if he really knows what information people need. When you’re a subject matter expert, sometimes it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that everyone understands everything you say. I promise anyone reading this that’s not the case. Like, if I asked a joe average person on the street for their thoughts on brake pad repairs local to Adelaide were, they probably wouldn’t even have an opinion. Mechanics across Adelaide may find that strange seeing as they live and breathe brake pads and replacements, but not many other people do.

Anyway, I’ll be off now. I have to get prepared for my video meeting with the mechanic. I want to look the part so I’m going to put on overalls and splatter dark oil on my body to make it look like I’ve had a hard day on the tools and underneath cars.
