Smashed Car Windscreen

It was so windy today. My family warned me about going outside on such a crazy day but I didn’t listen to them. I should have. They told me it would be dangerous and that the weather people expected branches and all sorts of debris to fall. It’s not that I didn’t believe them, I just didn’t think that anything bad would happen to me. I was dead wrong, and now I’m lucky to be alive.

I was driving down one of the main roads in Underwood when a tree branch broke off the tree above me. It came crashing down, right on top of my car. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. The branch did an absolute number on my car and smashed my windscreen. The damage would be equivalent to a really bad car crash.

I got out of the car straight away because it was safe to do so. I didn’t want to risk becoming stuck in the car. There was no way I could drive home, and with the falling branches an imminent threat, I knew that I had to leave as soon as possible. Whilst I was running I called the local mechanic and told him that I needed to get a new roadworthy certificate. Near me in Underwood, you can’t drive anywhere without a fully functioning car. I didn’t think my car would pass any tests in its current condition, and so I got my mechanic onto it straight away.

The mechanic was really understanding and it made me feel lucky to live in such a good place like Underwood. Thankfully, the mechanic local to Underwood didn’t judge me for being out in crazy winds. He didn’t even question it or make me feel dumb. He just reassured me that things would be okay and told me that he had everything under control. I’m very grateful to him.
