I’m sitting in the sun right now in the middle of summer and I’m in awe of how much heat it produces. I can feel the sun burning through my skin and my skin tingle as a result. I’m not surprised in the slightest that the sun is such a good way of producing energy. Like with the amount of heat it produces, we would have enough energy to power everything forever. I think… I’m certainly no scientist. I know for sure that the sun would be strong enough to power all the residential solar systems in Melbourne homes, though. Well, I guess I don’t know for sure but I’m pretty certain that would be the case.
I’m really interested in the power of the sun and solar energy. Part of me wants to quit studying my stock-standard business degree and start studying solar energy. Is that a thing that people do? I’m not sure. But if it is then I certainly want to do it! See, my lack of knowledge of all things solar power is really disappointing. For something that is so big and so important to not only myself but the planet, I should certainly know more about it.
I’ve been doing some research and I’ve seen that there’s this thing called a solar calculator that lets you calculate how much solar energy is for you. How cool is that? We’ve somehow turned the sun and the energy it produces into this tangible thing that costs us money. I bet you it’s not the sun that’s profiting off the heat/energy it produces. Oh well. That’s capitalism, I suppose.
As a young person, the world is massive and exciting. The solar system is even more massive and exciting, and the fact that it’s almost completely unexplored is enough to make my mind explode. I love the sun and the fact that we can use it for our own good. Here’s to solar power!
