Redman awoke with his head feeling like a bowling ball. He lifted his hand to his face slowly, slapping himself awake once. Beside him was a bedside table with a glass of water and a note beside it. When he felt as if he finally had the strength to sit up without being sick, Redman downed the water and took the note.
Sorry about the hangover, it read in the flowy script of Mavis. Trust me, you’ll be glad for the big night out sooner rather than later. When you’re ready, meet up with a man named Lorenzo at 35 Boulevard Drive, New Mornington. He’s got a mission for us. Tell security that you’re there to see a blocked drain plumber.
Looking around, Redman realised that the room was not at all familiar to him. He wasn’t on his regular bed, and this was not his regular room. No, it was much too clean for that. Not to mention that the bed was far too big. Redman seemed to be in some sort of hotel, although he hadn’t the slightest idea how he’d gotten there – not that randomly waking up somewhere unexpected was a new concept to him. However he’d gotten here, it seemed Mavis had something to do with it. That definitely wasn’t like her. Whatever this Lorenzo guy wanted, it had to be big.
Redman got up and made for the bathroom, considering how it was much nicer than the one he had back home. The crew was in desperate need of drain cleaning to get rid of the regular gurgling sounds, but commercial plumbers in the Melbourne area were hard to come by in the underground society.
More than commercial plumbing services, though, Redman needed answers. He wasn’t going to get them by standing around, so he showered and got ready for whatever Mavis had in store for him.
He had a feeling it was going to be an odd day.
